The Inaugaration of Barack Obama

Wow! As of yesterday Barack Obama is our new president of the United States. Millions of people were gathered to see this wonderful moment in history, from young to old. When me, my mom, and my sisters were watching this event on t.v., my mom was getting all teary and stuff. She was telling us how we just dont know the feeling she feels. Because some of us think that its not a big deal, like wow we have a new president, whoop dee doo. But it is a big deal for African Americans all over the United States, because we've been through alot with discrimination and all. So we've come a long way. There is a black president in the White House! I think its wonderful. Hopefully, we can make a" change" as Barack says.

Friday

I can't wait till Friday, it's going to be a nice day for me. After school, I'm going to our home basketball game with a bunch of friends. Then all of us are going to the movies. I want to see My Bloody Valentine 3D. I think it's that is going to be a good movie, i can't wait. I love watching scary movies. I rarely get scared when i watch those types of movies. Most of the time they're funny to me, but i feel bad when i laugh because they die, and that's not good at all. :-/ I think were all going to have a great time. It's going to be so fun. Well, at least I hope so.

First Impression

Today is a big day for me and my sisters. My mom's fiance is coming out here from Maryland and were finally going to meet him. I know my mom is juiced. but me, not so much. I'm kind of scared to tell you the truth. I wonder what he's going to be like. I talked to him on the phone before, it was a little weird but i guess he's cool. Tonight he is going to cook us dinner. My mom told us that he is a good cook and that he went to culinary school. So I guess i'm going to have to wait till tonight to see if it's true.
